Although Jack’s mom and aunt Melba didn’t completely approve, they allowed Jack to go to Fumblebee's junk shop because he didn’t have any friends. He loved it there. No one taunted or intimidated him or made him feel sad there. He and Mr. Fumblebee shared a fondness for one another and similar passions including local history and world cultures. Mr. Fumblebee let Jack prowl about the shop and keep anything he found particularly intriguing. Jack hid a collection of special finds in his bedroom.
